Using Related Search
By Kim on Apr 30, 2008 in Latest Articles, Search Tools
Using related search for your topic is extremely creative, gives excellent results, yet is sometimes overlooked when doing research.
Almost every subject has ‘related’ subjects’; in my hometown of Carmel, California, a few related subjects might be:
- Carmel Mission
- Clint Eastwood
- Carmel-By-The-Sea
- Lone Cypress
- Lodge at Pebble Beach
- AT&T Pro-Am
Maybe you are researching a particular problem, like asthma. Would any of these topics help in your research?
- Respiratory illness
- Allergies
- Inhalers
Most likely you would find a lot of relevant content with those related search keywords.
Any of these terms leads to even more content, and more related search. It just takes some creative thinking, which is not always easy to do. Any tools available would help, wouldn’t they?
Have you heard of Gigablast? Search for your original keyword and the site delivers results, called GigaBits…related search results.
I input the keyword phrase ‘foot pain’ and Giga Bits results were:
- 10% Plantar Fasciitis
- 8% heel pain
- 6% Metatarsalgia
- 6% Custom Insoles
- 5% Way to relieve foot pain
- 5% Bunions
- 5% Ankles
Even better, you can click on any Giga Bit and use IT for a new search. Derek Franklin has set it up so that
” …any time, when using Search Automator 3, you have one-click access for sending your search to Gigablast, allowing you the fastest path to discovering Giga Bits, related searches, or whatever else you want to call these often-overlooked search ‘tools’.” Search Automator3
