Adding Relevant Keywords To Your Search

This technique will also help you dramatically narrow the search results you get when looking for the information you want. To get really targeted results, the more keywords you add, the better. What you need is are the most helpful relevant keywords. You want to go from general to specific, correct? What if you are researching an article on traveling on a budget in Europe; if your search within the broad topic of ‘travel’, and you simply enter the word ‘travel’ into Google, you will probably find nothing related to your particular interest. This is over-simplifying, but shows if you add relevant keywords to your search, you can quickly drill down to narrow your results further:

  • hotel prices Europe
  • train fees Europe
  • auto rental fees Europe

You can narrow your results further by adding even more relevant keywords to your search:

  • discount hotels in Paris
  • rental cars Stuttgart
  • hostels in Cambria

There are several keyword research tools online. A quick one I use is Wordtracker’s Free Keyword Tool. It gives you the top 100 keywords related to your search. Other excellent resources are Wordpot and Hexatrack

. Any of these related searches can be copied and pasted into your favorite search engine, allowing you to find very relevant results. Search Automator 3 automates the process of finding relevant keywords you can add to a search (hence the name :-)), making it easy for you to ‘drill down’ and find the exact information you’re looking for. For more information about Search Automator 3, visit the Search Automator 3 homepage.
